Pioneering Oregon Wineries

Davidson Winery
(1989-1990’s)

Guy and Sandra Davidson purchased the well- known Bjelland Vineyards in the late 1980’s from Paul and Mary Bjelland, who founded the Umpqua Valley winery in 1967. The Bjelland’s had made fruit and varietal wines for several decades and sold them throughout Oregon.

When the Davidson’s heard that Bjelland Vineyards was for sale they immediately bought it and relocated to Roseburg. Guy Davidson had hands-on wine industry experience in California.

Guy was the winemaker, with 1989 his first vintage. He concentrated on making premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

It is not known how long Davidson Winery remained in business. The winery was located at 2637 Reston Road, Roseburg, OR 97470.

Fun Fact
