Pioneering Oregon Wineries

Evergreen Vineyards

Evergreen Vineyards owned and farmed 150 acres of grapes, some directly in front of the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum, near McMinnville, Oregon.  The Evergreen Museum houses the famed “Howard Hughes Spruce Goose” plane, along with many other historic aircraft, as well as the now closed Evergreen wine tasting room.  A space and missile museum and large IMAX theater are also located nearby.

Evergreen Vineyards’ parent company was Evergreen Aviation which ceased all operations including operating the vineyards and winery in 2014.  The various museums continue to operate.

In the early 1990’s Evergreen Aviation made its wine-industry debut with the purchase of a Pinot Noir Vineyard.  In 2002 Evergreen produced its first Pinot Noir wine under the “Spruce Goose” label, as well as a non-alcoholic semi-sparkling Pinot Noir. Evergreen wines were made by well-known winemaker Laurent Montalieu.  The wine tasting room was located at 500 Capt. Michael Smith King Way, McMinnville, OR 97128
