Adams Vineyard Winery
(1981-1994)

One of the First Wineries in the City of Portland

In the 1970’s Peter and Carol Adams partnered with Peter’s brother to open a wine shop in Portland. It eventually closed but their enthusiasm for wine continued.

Peter was an executive with a major Portland corporation, and Carol an artist. She designed the Adams’ wine labels.

Peter and David Adelsheim were high school classmates. In 1976 the Adams purchased 13 acres near Adelsheim’s Vineyard in Yamhill County and planted a vineyard. Their first crush was 1981.
