Oregon Wine Tasting Room
(1980 - 2009)

In 1980 wine pioneer Myron Redford, co-founder of Amity Vineyards in 1974, opened the Oregon Wine Tasting Room. Redford wanted to retail a wide variety of Oregon wines rather than just his own Amity Vineyards’ wines. For 23 years the Tasting Room was located in the Lawrence Gallery at Bellevue, west of McMinnville. In 2003 it moved to a nearby building.

In December 1980 Redford hired Patrick McElligott as his manager, who managed the business for 29 years. His knowledge of Oregon wines was unsurpassed. In 1980 the tasting room offered 23 wines from 12 Oregon wineries. By 2009 it offered 300 wines from 100 Oregon wineries.

It was the first and longest operating independent wine bar and wine retail store in Yamhill County. The tasting room was located at 19690 SW Hwy 18, McMinnville, Oregon. It closed its doors for good in June 2009.
