HISTORICAL Oregon Wineries

Stringer's Orchard Winery (1984-present)

Owner/winemaker John Stringer reportedly called his winery “the only wild plum winery in the world”.

Bonded in 1984 Stringer’s Orchard Winery produces many products from the 14+ acres of wild plums that it grows. Originally, only wine, jam, preserves and syrups were made.

In 2005, Stringer expanded into a distillery producing Plum Brandy and Liqueurs. He expanded again in 2012 producing Gin and Plum Gin.

The winery is located in Oregon. The orchards were located across the border in Modoc County, California, one mile south of the Oregon border on Highway 395 at nearly 5,000 feet elevation.

The winery was started by Roy and Joanne Stringer and son John.

The winery’s address is P.O. Box 191, New Pine Creek, OR 97635.
