Laurel Hood Vineyard

In the 1980’s/early1990’s Cannon Beach wine shop owner Laurel Hood purchased Yamhill County property located on the western edge of the Chehalem Mountain Viticulture area. The property once belonged to her grandparents back in the 1930’s.

A small vineyard was planted in 1988 including 1.7 acres of Pommard clone Pinot Noir, 1.1 acres Wadenswil clone Pinot Noir, and ½ acre of Pinot Gris, all own rooted and dry farmed. The soil is classified as Willakenzie consisting primarily of marine sedimentary soil.

Laurel Hood operates her wine shop and tasting room in at 236 N Hemlock #2, Cannon Beach, OR 97110. In addition to a selection of other wines she offers for taste and sale her own wine.
